Q. Why does it cost that much?
A. As an Independent Artist I feel my prices are true to the time and materials that were used to create each unique piece.
The following video contains swearing.
Q. How long does a Cardigan take to make?
A: A standard Cardigan with no trimming takes 8 to 10 hours crochet time.
Q. Why are the hand spun cardigans more expensive
A.For every 100g of hand spun yarn I use it takes 2.5 hours to transform fibre into ready to crochet yarn. I usually use between 700g and 1kg of hand spun yarn in a Cardigan creation.
Q. What is the difference between Acrylic and hand spun yarn?
A. Acrylic yarn is factory spun, synthetic fabric made from acrylonitrile, a petroleum or coal-based chemical. It is not something that comes from the natural world, it is machine washable and often lighter than hand spun yarn. My hand spun yarn is made from Merino wool which is an all natural material recycled, processed and dyed by the Wingham Wool Works. It is 100% natural and may come with specific washing instructions.
